Champion Class Return to Top

A Champion is an agent of unstoppable force and the cornerstone of any party of adventurers. Well known the world over for their physical power and defensive prowess the Champion is well suited to the roles of tanking or damage dealing. Through their rudimentary training in the art of magiks, the Champion combines an array of formidable magical attacks with powerful melee skills using a wide variety of weapons, while suited in the heaviest of armors. Feared by their enemies and loved by their friends, the Champion will undoubtedly control the flow of battle like no other.

Every Champion began life as a swordsman, serving in the army of his deity. As such they are well-trained in the art of sword fighting and at an early age they learn the 3 principal stances of balance, power, and defense first used by the ancient and great Alganon Swordmasters. An experienced Champion will flow between these stances as effortlessly as a mountain stream, using each to its maximum advantage during the course of battle. The primary melee skills center around the Champion's use of physical Energy. By judicious use of his strength, the Champion will never be concerned with lacking the will necessary to press his attack. But beware, he who over extends his strength and wastes his Energy on unnecessary attacks will quickly be overwhelmed as he waits for this precious life force to be restored.

Living in a magical world has had its effect on the Champion. Though blessed by his deity with magical Focus, few Champions have ever mastered more than the most basic spellcrafting powers, preferring instead to concentrate their time and energy on learning the finer points of weaponry. Still, all well-balanced Champions will strategically use magical Focus to turn the tide of battle to their favor. Early on the Champion will find that they can control the elements to lend themselves a powerful aura. Their aura may incite enemies in the area to be especially concerned with the Champion thereby protecting his allies, protect him by absorbing magical attacks made on his person, or grant him enhanced speed whereby to lay waste to any enemy unfortunate enough to be nearby. He may also find that he's mastered offensive spells of fire and storm, though never so powerfully as the weakest of Magi. Yet the most studious Champion will learn the secret whereby he may summon a dreaded Firewolf to fight by his side for a time.

The power and strength of the Champion is legendary in the world of Alganon, and those who choose this course will be lauded in the annals of time.

  • Lethal Fury

An aggressive mode that focuses on one objective: spilling the blood of the enemy. However, being consumed by the fury reduces both the concentration required to regain Focus and the damage done by Spellsword abilities.

  • Impenetrable Resolution

When finding oneself in dangerous situations, the Champion can tap into the Vitality of Triahsa and become an immovable beacon of spiritual pressure. When channeling the resolution of life/death, enemies will focus on the resolute fighter more readily out of instinctual fear, while the Champion will be favored with an increase in the effectiveness of healing effects and defensive abilities.
