I wanted to directly address the price changes as they relate to pre-orders. First, as you may notice, we’ve removed the prepaid options. This means only the pre-orders now have the bonuses to studies and other amenities. For those of you who pre-ordered, you are now the only ones in-game with those bonuses! This is a big deal.

Second, all pre-orders will receive at least two months for free. This is to compensate for the difference in unit/client pricing. Plainly speaking, we are weighing the value of your pre-order to compensate for the new launch price discount by giving free months of play.

Third, for those for those of you who purchased the 3, 6, and 12 month plans, we are putting together additional compensation, but it’s going to take just a bit of time to finalize. Since all preorders will be playing for free over the next few months, please be patient as we refine the details for the prepaid subscriptions (vs. the pre-order) and be assured we will be emailing each one of you with the final “picture” of compensation for these changes.

Thanks!

Thank you.

Looking forward to hearing more, but no big deal. I just love how stable the client is and the massive world I can now explore at will!

Alganon is amazing.

I reserve judgment until this has played out, but appreciate the communication.

-The "working on it" message is always a welcome one for players to read. We all just hope the return on the effort will satisfy those that feel slighted.

Good journey.

Thanks for posting answers. I was a bit disappointed when I saw the new pricing after paying what I did for a 12 month sub. At least I know you guys are doing something about it and not just leaving us feeling cheated.

Keep up the good work, see you all in game!

If what you say is that we are to get 2 free months then way do I see my account charged 39.99 What I see is a lot of talk and no figures posted to this string by the administration. Maybe you can be a little more specific and put some numbers down with your speech please.

You have the 39.99 charge from when you purchased the client. Due to the price cut we have granted all pre-order customers two free months of play. This means that the 30-day free time that comes with your client purchase doesn't begin to get used up until Febuary instead of yesterday. Does that make sense?

In addition to tthis, for people that pre-paid 3, 6, or 12 months, we are lining up additional compensation due to the price dispariy int he 9.95 vs 14.95 monthly pricing.

actually at the year sub $143.86 works out to $11.99 a month.

Maybe to make things easier, a better form of a account information page under Myaccount along with a email notification that states something like "your account xxxx xxx xxxx 1111 has been charged 39.99 Next payment due will be 9.99 on Feb 1,2010... Thank you for supporting us here in arizona with Ferrari`s (Just kidding about that last part)

Heck even on Lotro account it showed my start day, my bonuses my monthly billing, the day the billing cycle ends etc etc... A whole lot more then what I look at here... Name address and card number is all.

Also why not be up front about your pricing??? Why does a new person have to create a account first just to find out how much the game cost. The FAQ sends you to the account set up page but gives you no info untill several pages later

I'm sure it's just an oversight. These folks are busy with making the game better. But I agree that the pricing and subscription details needs to be better laid out and be much clearer than it is currently. New players cannot see some obvious facts on how to get the game and play it, nor for how much.

The beta sign up link at the top of the main site and myalganon site pages needs to be updated to "signup", or removed. Maybe we are now paying to play a still beta game phase... but the game is now "live" and has been released. It's not in beta. Having the beta signup link there is just confusing new people.

I also note that in the already subscribed accounts there is no option to change your subscription unless you first cancel it. That needs to be addressed as well. If I want to now pay for 3-6 months at a time, or a full year in advance, it should be an option that is obviously available. Or if you allow game time cards to be purchased online or in-stores, that too should be in the options in an obvious place that is easy to find and read about.

Eep! That eta signup link on alganon.com completely slipped by the radar. Will get it fixed right up.

You can change your subscription via the modify subscription page. Currently the only subscription type being offered is the 30day plan thus when you go to the page that's all you see.
