Will there be Tabards in the game? For Families,Guilds and Other big events (rewards and/or bought with pvp points) like in WoW.

You could have a tabard with your family emblem on it and when you join a guild that emblem goes in the middle and your family emblem goes on the bottom.

If this is posted in the wrong spot you could move it.

Or even just a cloak and shield?

Capes, tabards, shields, etc..all the above... there should possibly be a way to set where you put it... maybe even a sizer... although that could be difficult to implement. Also a standard with unlockable buff slots ala WAR...great idea there!

Anything but tabbards please, unless they're modelled separately instead of pasting themselves across a toon's chest. To be frank, most of WoW's tabbards look awful. It galls me when I have to wear one to champion a faction that clashses with the rest of my character's armor (assuming I haven't been missing an interface option for the past 48 months ¬_¬")

i think if done correctly tabards could work... but ya i do tend to agree with you.

A customizable tabbard/crest would be a nice touch. Something that would uniquely identify you and your team mates.

Vaterwolf pointed out, "Or even just a cloak and shield?". That would be a good start, then maybe more options later.

A cloak would be cool with your family and guild crest on it. No defense on the the cloak it would be for looks like the tabard is on other game. A shield i don't know about that cause not all class uses that and if you put a crest on them other classes would say why don't i get a crest when i'm a magic user.

Yeah I like the idea of a cloak like from Guild Wars, everyone on WoW moaned about not wearing tabards cos they were ugly, specially like the idea with the shields though! good thinking

Did I not read that as well as having the option to dye your armour there was also the option to add emblems to them...surely different emblems could be collected and added to certain pieces of armour.....or did i dream it

Um, what is a tabard? You expect people to know this stuff, and I'm sure most people do, but not everyone has played every game.

Diageous, tabards are most commonly crest-like insignias that are applied to the front or back of an avatar's tunic, cape or even on banners carried into battle in MMO's that display a Guild or an association's symbol. It could also display a family's crest or a PvP alliance etc.

I dont wear them unless I have to for faction or something, they are just to ugly.

How about a "Gauntlet"? On 1 side there would be family crest and the other side would be for your guild. You could also put a gem spot on the backside of your palm. That could be for looks that you can buy/make different colors. Then after a line of quests for your family you get to choose a gem with stats.

Well that was a thought i had about having your family and guild crests on without using the same old tabard that no one really likes. Also it would not seem weird for a magic or a melee user to wear.

Good idea. My problem with tabards is they are so massive that they can really clash with a piece of armor, weapon, etc. A gauntlet would be a more reasonable size. I've seen some talk about cloaks (from GW, I believe) and that would work too. As would shields (but only for those who have them.)

This is another place where choice would be nice. Perhaps there could be a few reasonable options for emblem placement, and you could select what you wanted where via the options interface, or is that getting over the top?

i dont like either of all these things. if you see my name ( not sure what name i want yet) and you can either search waht guild i am in, aske me or its above, or beneath my name on your screen that should be enough.

tabards and other items to signify " equality " or " i belong to this guild" are useless and just more pixels on the screen that most likely....
