Alganon Beta Access Event: http://www.alganon.c...s-detail/id/126

Note: This event is for early access to the Public Beta. Information regarding entry into the Private Beta phase will be announced as we approach the end of March.

In celebration of MyAlganon's release at http://www.myalganon.com/signup, Quest Online introduces the Alganon Beta Access Event to the community!

The event gives active MyAlganon community participants the chance to win early access entry into the Public Beta! A summary of the press release and event details are below.

Chandler, AZ - February 20, 2009 - The community not only wants to play Alganon after it has been released, but participate in an active way during its development. Starting today, Quest Online is giving the community that chance with the Alganon Beta Access Event; a selection of of prominent and active members of the community that are selected to receive a chance at early access to the Public Beta.

In order to establish an event that is fair and fun for everyone, the event will be spread across several weeks up through our Private Beta phase. Candidates are selected from a random pool of the active members on the MyAlganon.com website and official community forums.

A summary of the Alganon Beta Access Event:

* Selection of active community members and guilds each week to be entered into the pool of early access Public Beta candidates

* Guilds selected will each be able to choose a limited number of representatives for early access to the Public Beta

* All those selected, including guilds and their members, will receive priority access to the official start of the Public Beta.

* Exceptions for the event are media, guilds and community members specifically established for beta participation.

* At the end of the event, a selection of community members and guilds from the candidate pool will receive early access to the Public Beta.

* Weekly summary update of all activity on MyAlganon, including announcement of early access Public Beta candidates

Creating a MyAlganon account at http://www.myalganon.com/signup and participating in the event is absolutely free. Community members who continue to participate throughout the event and after selection will automatically be recognized as potential candidates for future Beta access opportunities.

Nice though I am not entirely sure what it is we are suppose to do. You say active members.. But does that also mean that that post just to say Hi or whatever to up thier post count will be counting as active instead of actually contributing to things?

"Active" means posting and participating in good standing, whether that is small posts or large posts. Also includes sharing blogs, uploading photos, etc. Assume that more prominent posts that are being responded to by other members may be regarded as higher status though.

Ok in regards to Posting. What about those of us (and I am part of this crowd myself) Whose forum name is different than MyAlganon name? Will there be a way for yall to tell that we ae the same person? Otherwise people like me would have of activeness cut in half simply because of half there and half here.

We are currently working on implementing a way to enter your MyAlganon name on your forum profile, and vice versa for MyAlganon. This will allow us and your friends to keep better track of who is who :).

Yes, if you click on "BLOGS" for your profile menu, it will show which blogs you currently have. At the end is a red circle icon for deleting them.

Participate in the community, post blogs, pictures, forum posts here, etc. Be an upstanding and active community member and that's all you need! We aren't looking for anything too difficult or complex, as we'd like to give everyone a chance.

Each week in addition to announcing candidates, we will be posting the prominent blogs, forum posts, and other items here and on MyAlganon.

I'm actually not that much of a forum poster, historically... and fortunately for you my posts don't count :).

Quality vs. quantity can play a role as well, it's not solely any sort of number game :).

Okay when did this quick reply button get here. It was not here this morning.

ZOMG, Beta I remember when that was a dirty word because everyone was so impatient.
Hopefully, length of time being an active member will contribute to our standing ;)

Active membership is not naturally indicative of quality counts posting. I am glad there is an active Admin that will clarify when industry indicia can be misleading. I raised an eyebrow at this fact. Alganon has an Admin that is knowledgable and willing to post answers expeditiously. WTG QOL-Berek!

btw - I am Goldsol on the other side requiring a longer screen name.

Hey all my post are pure quality, ok there was a time in 2007 where things got a little out of control  , but now I've matured and it's all good quality material :) except this post of course, oh and maybe a few others today.....
