For the last 3 weeks I have waited patiently while my man Timur studied level 5 (five) in the Wand specialty. When, at last, the 21 days finally ended (and I checked almost every day!) I opened good old Timur, I found that not only were my 21 day studies not completed, but the previous level 4 studies were undone!
I really do not understand what is going on here. I have fought virtually every one of hundreds if not thousands of battles using my wand, and yet I still am only rated as a tyro. I had hoped that by legitimately completing level 5, after successfully finishing level 4 in wands, that I might be able to affect my skill level. Instead, I have been penalized 2 complete levels.
I sure would appreciate any logical explanation as to what the ^%$#)(&&&$^ happened here.
Thank you/
According to what I'm looking at, you have completed 3 ranks in Wand Specialization. You are currently studying Rank 4 of Wand Specialization with Rank 5 being next in your queue. I have personally never heard of, nor seen first hand, any studies go backwards in rank. Once a study is completed it is done and can't be unlearned in any way. I have put in a request for our database technician to look into it further, but that's all I can verify at this time.
There also seems to be a slight intermingling of terms that I can hopefully clear up. You refer to using your wand in a large amount of battles and that your skill level isn't very high with wands while also referring to ranks 4 and 5 of Wand Specialization affecting that skill level. The Wand Specialization study has nothing to do with your wand Skill Level (which is shown on the skills pane by pressing 'k' by default). Wand Skill Level is increased by using your wand in combat. Each attack with your wand has a chance of increasing your wand skill by 1 point. The Martial Discipline study actually increases how quickly you can level up your weapon skills.
The Wand Specialization study increases your wand damage by +2 per rank of the study you have completed. It does absolutely nothing to increase your wand skill level.
Hopefully what I said is at least somewhat helpful to you, but I will have to get back to you after our database technician is able to look into this further.
