i suppose soul and intellect first of all but does spell power increase the amount i heal or does that only go for any healing power in gear?

yes spell power helps out healing too. At least on the ranger which is the only toon right now that has healing ability and the gear to swap in and out to test. Don't have spacifics as to how much but noticable diffrence in my heal tic's when i jump 100 spellpower

For healers, spell power and soul should be your primary focus on shaping your character.
