As part of finishing the Cloak and the hand in the verbiage on the World Evolution pages says:

Members of After the Dawn have earned the chance to meet with the development team and help to name new items that will be added in the coming weeks.

When do we get to meet up and discuss? We have a Vent channel we could schedule something to get the max numbers of our guild in.

Monday 22nd, 12cst, I will moderate the channel with the Devs, and ppl can have turns in vent to talk. The Posts about the Dawning said who ever turned in the quest got to name the items, however since the Dawning took its toll on everyone the rules are changing a little and we are allowing anyone in AtD to attend. They are providing me with a list of items which I have not gotten yet, but I am sure all will be resolved shortly. See you all in vent.

YES! It happened on Monday and you really should check out the AtD forum. A lot of the meeting was pasted in there. I think you'll be very happy. )

I'm pretty positive that they didn't say anything to us that couldn't be said to everyone, but it wouldn't be the first time in my life that I screwed up and said something I wasn't supposed to. To be totally honest, I'm not sure what's a secret and/or what's not! *lol*

I guess I better play it safe and defer any details of that meeting to one of the devs.

What I will say is that the members of development who were there were AWESOME, keeping in mind at ALL times the feelings of ALL of Alganon players, AtD members or not, Asharr and Kujix. They made it very clear that their main concern was the player base and wanting to involve all of us in the game and its lore. They sound extremely sincere and excited about that, and proved it with the events of that meeting.

We knew by what was said that we are all appreciated immensely and I believe them. They were very sincere, patient and so very cool for actually having more than half of their staff meet with us in vent. They spent quite a bit of time listening to our ideas and thoughts, and are going to try to implement some of the better suggestions we came up with. They sounded eager to hear our feelings about things. That was nice and a breath of fresh air to be certain.

I can say that most, if not all, of my doubts about their intentions toward us players have been relieved. They're working with what they have to make this the best game they can for everyone. They want this game to thrive more than any of us do, and not just as a business. These guys love what they do and they have put their hearts into the making of this game.

I believe that now, and hopefully the events of March 1st will save us and NOT break us. I'm excited, and I wouldn't miss the chance to be here to see what happens.

Thanks for the default discretion, Kamaile. But you are right - there's nothing that was said in the meeting with you all that can't be public knowledge. It was, first and foremost, a chance for AtD members who worked so hard towards their goal to sit down "face to face" and help shape the world and future of Alganon directly.

In a nutshell, AtD members named items, designed some others (though they may not have realized it ) and helped us shape how the upcoming instances and boss encounters are going to work. Since I wasn't there for the latter part of the meeting and only know the end-results, I'll let AtD fill in the gaps. It all boils down to the fact we truly are trying to keep your best interests in mind, both as what you're entitled to as players and pillars of our community and what is the most fun. At least, that's the plan. Feel free to smack me around should you feel otherwise.

This part really made my heart sink a bit. Considering the small crew of us left behind playing and still supporting, was kind of disappointing that the few remaining all weren't included in this part of the meeting to be sure all interests and play styles were considered.

Not meant as any slight to ATD, but just the process itself and whole event really is disheartening.

I'm not sure if this will help at all, but this particular meeting was really held to discuss the Dawning event and the circumstances surrounding that, and the only reason it included just us was because we happened to finish the Cloak first. That's all.

I'm pretty sure, with all I heard in there, that this won't be the last meeting these guys will hold with players and/or possible future event/contest winners who will, in turn, be able to offer up their feelings and ideas just like we were given the opportunity to do this time.

Most of the time was spent going over weaponry/armor item names - I'd say 90% of the time.

The time we spent talking with the devs concerning the Dawning bosses and instances, was minimal at best, and had nothing to do with factions or families. Then we spent some time offering overall suggestions that we (as players) hoped they would consider. Those suggestions were things we felt would improve the gaming experience for any subscriber, but they were just ideas that may or may not ever be implemented.

All kinds of people with all different play styles were represented, and I think we tried really hard to offer suggestions that would make the game satisfying for EVERYONE ~ not just us.

It was just nice to have an opportunity to let them hear from a player's perspective how we thought the game was progressing, but anyone could do the same basic thing here in the forums. It was just a lot less typing there in vent

As part of completing the event first we were able to experience one of the key things that make this game special.

Rather than simply logging in and finding the world changed, players will be able to take part in causing the change, and will have the chance to have their actions become an official part of the Alganon lore.

Any ideas we offered were in thinking of the Game Alganon and Everyone who plays, not our side, not our guild, but the game we have grown to love and want to succeed.

And just to remind everyone out there reading - The Devs welcome suggestions from Everyone. There is a ticket category called Suggestion.
We have these forums for Suggestions - so every single player is welcome to offer suggestions.

We were encouraged to continue to think and suggest as well as to let others know all comments and suggestions are Welcome.

I really enjoyed that meeting, and it was a nice reward for completing the Dawning. Being able to talk to the Design Team and listen to what they had to say reiterated the fact that they are gamers themselves and they want the community involved. It really sounded like they want the game to thrive for the community over the bottom line (we all know it needs money to survive).
Being a proud Kujix, I was thrilled when I was able to name a few Ashaar epic armor sets and weapons, such as the Ashaar epic mace aptly named the Crybaby Rattle (fast speed, low dmg), and the armor set called Hello Kitty PJ's (with low armor and stats, and a get in touch with your feelings set bonus), and who could forget the epic shield Ashaar get called the Cream Puff Plushie (has a chance to port to bind on dmg) and many more (The Namby-Pamby, the Soiled Shorts AOE). I can't wait till I get a chance to see that stuff on the battlefield.
All kidding aside, it was great to be involved like that and very appreciated by ATD. They said there will be other chances for the community to interact with them coming ahead. I am looking forward to March 1st and hope the word gets out.
