I have been working on a site dedicated to Professions within Alganon. It is a work in progress, but will have recipe lists, study trees, skill-up guides, and random useful data.

very nice indeed.. I know this will help me. There was another post about another 3rd party site as well and I was wondering what happened to MyAlganon hosting all that information and etc...

I know the Devs have said that the whole reason for MyAlganon was to host stuff like this and to eliminate the need for tons of info scattered around the Internet.

Not knocking these sites at all, because I like them... just wondering!

Well, honestly, it gives me a output for some of my creativity. I'm a novice web designer, and have done a few small game sites in the past. I enjoy the challenge of it, the time it takes... trying to figure out why part "a" of the site isn't fitting with part "b".

Also, it allows me to output random bits of knowledge I found as useful... such as the reference page for bags and packs. Could someone look up the quantity of cloth it takes to make a bag on the Library... yes. Can it easily be found and referenced against others? No.

Finally, I think player made fan sites help promote the game further. It shows dedication by players who really enjoy the game... and want to help others.

I'm sure that there will always be third party sites; people like the challenge of making them and forming communities after all. The main goal of MyAlganon is to make it so those sites aren't REQUIRED.

We'll steadily be adding new features to fill in gaps in the current functionality.

That makes perfect sense. It seems that there are a few here that enjoy the challenge of making and running these sites! I know it is a bit much for me, but I applaud their work. I do like these sites and agree that 3rd party sites like Alakazam and etc help promote the game and information sharing. I also really like the idea of having it all at my fingertips via the library and/or MyAlganon without having to scour the Internet.

Either way... good work Shauna, I know I will be stopping by.
