Compared to what?

They are faster than the 1g/15g mounts.

I think they are the same speed as the one you can get at lvl 35 for 100 dawn tokens from the Mount vendor.

They look way cooler, especially if you are Kujix.
Simple observations can lead to fundamentally wrong conclusions.

I know the 75 gold mounts are fater. In beta on my ranger useing the invigorate buff I could out run the 1 and 15 gold mounts but I could not out run the 75 gold ones. Im not sure what the speeds are though.

I personly am looking forward to having my fast mount back. Plus the just look nice in my opion.

Wouldn't it be great if the actual mount speeds were listed on the tooltip for the mount icon when browsing the vendor window?

was sort of expecting the same thing, or even as a quick fix something in the library.

Even on the character screen where all the other speeds are, but I guess that would defeat the purpose of knowing which to buy.

So maybe both, that way you could tell what kind of speed enhancement that Mount study actually gives you..

I have almost enough to get the lvl 20 mount and I am super excited about it. I saw the 100 token mount yesterday and it does look pretty sweet, but I am not sure which I want.

Decisions are tough.. :)

Indeed. In fact, one could take out the "backwards" indicator for speed and put in "mounted" and I think people would be most pleased.

Well Just think, You will NEVER be able to get the 100 token amount ever again once the dawning is complete.

Unless you're going to be religiously doing a large amount of dailies every day you're not going to be able to buy a full set of dawning token gear over a period of two months, let alone a set and the horse. I'd consider buying the horse for the looks if you desire it, but I'd strongly suggest that using them to save 75 gold is a mistake. Once you're 50 and the non daily quest lines have run out you'll be able to make 75 gold far far faster than you'll ever be able to acquire 100 tokens.

I do the dailies everyday. I count 6. I now have just over 200 dawn tokens and 70 gold. I plan on buying the 75g mount and getting a full set of Dawing gear. 580 tokens gets you a full set of armor, cloak, weapon, 2 trinkets and 1 ring.

I believe I read on these forums in the past that if you do the Dawning questline from start to finish you net 450 tokens. 130 more is no problem at 6 a day. There is no endgame at the moment so I will take my time and get as many as I can before time runs out.

The thing is some of the dawning gear is well, crap. Take the trinkets for example, 10 agi on a lvl 35 purple? I can make a 9 agi 9 str yellow (or maybe its green.... colorblindess ahoy!) thats lvl 38. I was looking at the arrows as well and their dps is not highest in game, if I remeber I can buy vendor arrows with higher dps on em.

I have been focusing on the recipies and novelties so far. I have both pets and the tabard. The gear gets out dated in expansions, and how it looks even now. The novelty items however, will be around as long as you play (if you get them now).

How many that are available depends on your level. I believe I have 5 at level 28.

I personally think the price jump from 15g to 75g is way too much. WAY too much. Yes I managed to get the 75g mount, but only because a guildie was kind enough to donate money.

What's more fair? 45g? 30? I don't know. But 75g is way too much even at level 30. I made about 15g by lvl 25 from crafting items and selling them. Being able to buy the 15g mount at lvl 25 seems realistic. But that rate of savings does not make 75g realistic by even lvl 50. Yet you can buy the mount at level 20?

Just my opinion.

I also thought the jump from 15 to 75 was a bit much for a 10 level span. I am 29 right now and so far I have been able to save up about 77 gold. That includes me crafting, selling some stuff on the AH... selling looted stuff from grinding and just not buying a lot.

While I have seen the amount of money you get just by hunting go up a lot from the low 20s to the high 20s, I really agree that 75 gold for a new lvl 20 player is a tad bit out of reach.

Perfect example... I will not buy the 75 gold mount until I have at least a 25 gold buffer in my bank, so that means I will not have a mount for another 2 or 3 levels at least. So that puts me in the low 30s, buying a level 20 mount.

I think of mounts in this game the way I did in EQ2. They are a luxury item that isn't really needed for normal game play (unlike some of the recent games with much longer travel times).

I will probably buy the 75g one when, like a previous poster, I have a good cushion of cash in hand.
