When we have more information on a potential time-line for addon support we'll let the community know.

Having addon support is an important milestone that the developers are working towards. I can't wait to see what the addon community is able to come up with.

give some of us an NDA to sign, and an svn checkout, and let some of us community member help out

<--- Greatly sadden by developer joy for addons
I won't be using addons ever again, I hope that the Dev Team does not rely on addons to improve game play. If that becomes the case ...

I don't believe add-on support should ever be a licence for a game designer to abdicate on designing a good, functional UI.Well my hope would be that some of the addons improve the UI so much that they do become the standard. It would be good news for QOL to let the community help improve their game with them.

That said, I believe most of what I think is missing from the current UI would have to be added anyway simply to provide the framework for UI add-on developers to deliver those features in the add-ons (things like window scaling, remembering custom chat windows, window placement, interactive quest tracker window, ...).

Either do I, players should never be required to have a particular addon to function in a game although that being said I don't mind a developer taking what is a good addon and including it in the game as an official part of the UI, thereby making it a support part of the UI/game.I don't believe add-on support should ever be a licence for a game designer to abdicate on designing a good, functional UI.
