Ah, welcome, welcome new fodder...erm I mean shiny new CM. My Frognars are always on the lookout for a new playmate, they get so lonely at times and too many of their "toys" get shredded so easily.

<Could show the CM a nice Frognar if the Attachments tool had not disappeared...again!!!>

-Actually this is something that the company should not have to explain to their community. It's an internal personnel matter. There are also privacy and legal issues regarding these matters that make it a heckuva lot better if they don't answer.

The short of it is that Berek went to a different job of his own accord and Samaxe did something to get him banned and jettisoned. Any other details are, for better or worse, none of our business.

Good journey to you.

Actually here in the USA there are laws that prevent companies from going into these kinds of details. So there is no choice in the matter. If someone leaves, no matter what they really cannot legally go into details without potentially putting themselves in jeopardy of a lawsuit. It is a law created to protect the employee, however at times it can make things look worse than they were. I have no personal knowledge about this specific case, but working around Human Resource issues for years I do know what can open up a big lawsuit, and QoL is wise to avoid getting into this.

Which law is that? And how can it be illegal to give a reason to why a community mananger just dissapear?

-It's not a crime per se (depending on what is said), but any word given that can be construed as untrue or a creative interpretation of what happened (as ex-employees and employers rarely agree on exactly what happened) can be cause for a defamation suit. Even if the employer successfully defends the suit, they have to expend company time and resources doing so. There are other causes of action related to the situation we are discussing, but the above is illustrative of a typical reason. The risk is just not worth it.

Besides, airing your dirty laundry in public is just bad form regardless of the circumstances. Who would want to come work for a company that talks about the circumstances of someone leaving in public? Not a motivator for me to want to work for them.

Good journey.

Yes this is a very touchy thing. The organizations where I have worked all had policies regarding giving recommendations even. We weren't allowed . If an ex-employee put my name down as a reference when applying for a job, when that company called me - I was only allowed to give the dates that they worked. I wasn't allowed to give any evaluation of their work (positive or negative). Very touchy thing indeed.

Extremely touchy. The way the laws are the company would be very tied up trying to defend what they said. While not criminal it is a civil issue that is a nightmare for someone having to deal wiht.

Also the comment about it being bad form to bad mouth a former employee is true. I also would not even consider working for a company that publicly felt like it had to bad mouth people it let go.
